Under Article 6(1)(d) and (e) of the Schengen Borders Code (Regulation (EU) 2016/399), a non-EU national must not be flagged in the Schengen Information System (SIS) for the purpose of refusal of entry ('non essere segnalato nel SIS ai fini della non ammissione'), and must not be considered a threat to public policy, internal security, public health, or the international relations of any Member State ('non essere considerato una minaccia per l'ordine pubblico, la sicurezza interna, la salute pubblica o le relazioni internazionali di uno degli Stati membri'). There is no published fixed sentence-length threshold; admission is assessed case by case by the border officer.
